UNDER RECONSTRUCTION

All of the 2011 reports on this page for some odd reason disappeared and with it so did my faith in the web host application Lycos.

As time allows I will begin to reconstruct this page as best as I can, however I'm doubting I'm going to remember all the details from 2 and a half years ago. So check back later for progress.

After playing catch-up updating this website, I will then look into other more reliable replacement web hosting options to migrate over to, suggestions anyone?

OCTOBER 9, 10 & 11, 2011: FISHING FOR KING SALMON, NEW YORK
Headed to NY with the guys from my club to camp and fish for kings.
We hit the Salmon River for 3 days. Everyone did well. I caught plenty of big fish and lost some too. Been a while since I last fished NY. Fun times. Tight Lines! - George

SEPTEMBER 17, 2011: MY BUDDIES CRUSH THE BROOK TROUT, NEW HAMPSHIRE
My friend Mike and his sons headed to the white mountains to target brook trout. Their efforts paid off with plenty of colorful brookies landed. Tight Lines! - George

AUGUST 20, 2011: GOLD TROUT & RAINBOWS, MASSACHUSETTS
I went back to attempt to try and catch the other golden trout. I was doubtful that I would but knew I would at least get into some rainbow trout. Which I did and wouldn't you know it I also landed the other golden rainbow too. I love it when things turn out the way you had hoped. Tight Lines All! -George

AUGUST 17, 2011: I'LL SETTLE FOR RAINBOW TROUT, MA
I went back to the spring fed pond to try and catch that other golden but it barely showed itself and when it did it was surround by vegetation. Regardless I still had fun giving lots of rainbow trout within the pond a good workout. The largest of the day is the one pictured below, which measured 16.50 inches. Tight Lines! - George

AUGUST 6, 2011: FOLLOW THE RAINBOW TO GET TO THE GOLD BUT BEWARE OF THE TIGER, MA
I visited a spring fed pond (a little spot I like to keep to myself) to target trout from shore. The target fish I was after were two rare golden rainbow (palomino) trout that were stocked back in May as novelty fish, along with a generous number of rainbow trout by a private hatchery for an annual spring trout-fishing event at a public pond. The two golden's surprisingly all this time, somehow had managed to some how avoid being caught by other fishermen and birds of prey. Being bright yellow they stand out and are generally more vulnerable to predation and anglers. The state of Massachusetts does not stock golden palomino trout, hence the rarity of these fish in MA public waters. Though it sounds a bit crazy targeting only two fish in a entire pond and for a type of fish that generally known to be difficult to catch for refusing offering after offering but (though it did not come easy) I did manage to land one of them and along the way of my golden trout hunts I was pleasantly surprised with another trout rarity, a beautifully colored up tiger trout. In addition to those two fish plenty of (very aerial) rainbow trout were also caught. The rainbows after being hooked put on a great show of mid air acrobatics. Great day on the pond. Tight Lines! - George

JULY 30, 2011: FISHING FOR LARGEMOUTH BASS & GOLDFISH, MASSACHUSETTS
Been a while since I went Largemouth fishing. I got an early start and hit a local lake, throwing a whole assortment of baits. No monster size bass today but a couple of respectable fish and small bass. On the way home from bass fishing I finally pulled over to take some casts at this little drainage pond that I have driven past many others times. I always wondered if the pond had any fish. To my surprise there really weren't any bass but I noticed some large goldfish swimming around. So I said what the hell and took out a ultralight rod and rolled up some small bread balls made from my unfinished lunch and used them as bait on the smallest hook I had and wound up with a new pet to take home to my aquarium. Tight Lines All! -George
